EILIDH GABUREANU
Painter and Printmaker
ABOUT MY WORK
Informed by man's relationship with the rural highlands of Scotland, my practice is an exploration of my continued experiences hiking over the Cairngorms and Eastern Highlands. With particular focus on the role of Bothies within the Scottish landscape and rural communities, I create paintings that explore the experience of a place and capture a memory or moment, drawing attention to the uncultivated nature that surrounds us. My work attempts to preserve those experiences by expressing the characteristics of my journeys endured over the years.

These small, intimate paintings are formed out of personal memories or appropriated secondary source material that relates to personal and collective experiences in the Eastern Highlands.
